ABOUT LIFT

LIFT is one of the largest and fastest growing independent film and television studios in the United States, with over $250 million of production since its inception in 2002.  Founded by Emmy nominated producers Malcolm Petal and Kimberly C. Anderson, LIFT has offices in New Orleans, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and Harahan, Louisiana, along with operations in Phoenix, Arizona, and Stamford, Connecticut.

In October of 2006, LIFT celebrated the groundbreaking of The Film Factory, a 300,000 square foot world class motion picture production studio, film vocational school, and distribution house located on 18 acres of land in the downtown New Orleans area.  The Film Factory will be the first facility in the United States to house a state-of-the-art training institute on an active motion picture studio lot.  

Over the past several years, LIFT-produced feature films and television movies have received awards and nominations from some of the film and television industries’ most prestigious institutions, including The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Directors Guild of America, the American Society of Cinematographers, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the International Press Academy, and the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

In addition to producing and financing feature films and television programs, LIFT also provides a full array of in-house production services, including a locally-based transportation fleet, state-of-the-art post production facilities, construction services, production management services, and a prop and wardrobe house, all located within LIFT’s 40-thousand plus square feet of office and warehouse space located in the Greater New Orleans area.
